The Other Side of Life – Eternity

A guy slept off while waiting for his roommate, who keeps late night. As he tried turning around, a huge dark figure with flamy eyes opened his door, he wanted to scream but all strength was gone. Was it a dream or vision? He couldn’t tell. It stared deep into his eyes and handed him a letter, he opened it………

Dear Jude,

I couldn’t make it home last night because I died. I thought life after death is an elusion but I am here lonely and afraid in pains and in torments. The torture is unending, I cant explain it but am dying a thousand times in a second.

You never told me this place was for real and how to avoid it. We grew up together, went to school together and did everything in common but you never told me about this new life of yours. I asked you severally and you jokingly pushed it aside.

I was a good man with a charitable heart but that didn’t count here. The angel told me, am without Christ and my name is not in the book of life. I asked you yesterday morning whats this born again stuff and you said you don’t want to bore me. I am in pains. Can you hear the screams, the torments of the great and the less? I was told its for eternity.

You betrayed our friendship. You never told me sex was fornication but you cautioned me against AIDS. You never told me getting high was drunkenness but you just told me not to drive. You never told me lying was sin, all you just said was “don’t be caught”. I hate you for this.

Aaaahhhh!! Aaahhhh!! I am dying again here but I am alive, the flames keeps getting hotter. I wish you were here. You deceived me to the end. If you had told me about Jesus and salvation I knew I couldn’t be here.

I died only a few hours ago, I was drunk and ran into a pole but it seems I have been here for years. Please tell my family and all our friends about salvation. I am dying again but death wont come.

It’s me, James.

He woke up at about 2:45am with a banging headache and his phone started ringing, he picked it up and what he heard scared him to his bones….”Hello, James is dead”.

Today is still another opportunity to tell someone very dear to you about Jesus Christ and His saving grace. I just told you because I will never want you to end up in everlasting suffering.

Enjoy your day.

What is Waiting For You After Death?

I went into my classroom
Ready for another year at school.
I didn’t want the work,
Just wanted to hang and be cool.

I had on new clothes,
New sneaks on my feet.
I was there for class on time
Went to the back and took my seat.

Yeah, I’m moving up.
I’m already grown.
Soon I’ll be graduating
And out on my own.

I talked to some of my friends.
We were all having fun.
Said some things I shouldn’t have said,
Did stuff I shouldn’t have done.

I knew I was different.
I felt God touch my heart.
I knew I should set a standard,
But then I’d be set apart.

Walking to the bus,
was not looking for strength.
I heard the car tires screeching,
But now it’s too late.

I’m standing in this room
And I can see the heavenly gate.
Oh no!I never prayed.
I thought I had time to get it straight.

An angel walked to me.
He had a book in his hand.
I knew it was the Book of Life.
When would this dream end?

I told him my name
And he began to look.
Then he looked at me sadly and said
Your name is not in this book.

Angel, this is a dream.
No, I can’t be dead!
He closed the book and turned away.
He whispered – You cannot proceed ahead.

No…no this can’t be real.
Angel, you can’t turn me away.
Let me talk to God.
Maybe He’ll let me stay.

He led me to the gate.
Jesus came to me,
He did not let me in but said,
Beloved what is your need?

Jesus, I cried, please
Don’t cast me away from you.
Tears ran down His face as He said,
You knew what you needed to do.

Lord, please I’m young.
I never thought I would die.
I thought I’d have plenty of time.
Death caught me by surprise.

Lord, I went to church.
Please Jesus, I believe.
He said you would not accept me.
My love you would not receive.

Lord, there were too many hypocrites.
They weren’t being true.
He took a step back and asked
What does that have to do with you?

Lord, my family claimed to be saved,
They weren’t real.You know.
He said, I died for you.
Now I have to go.

I fell to my knees crying to Him.
Lord, I planned to be real tomorrow
I couldn’t, make Him understand.
I had never — felt such sorrow.

Then it hit me hard, I said
Lord, where will I go?
He looked into my eyes and said,
My child you already know.

Please Jesus, I begged
The place is so hot.
It seemed to trouble and grieve Him.
He whispered, depart from me, I know you not.

Lord, you’re supposed to be love.
How can you send me to damnation?
He replied, With your mouth you said you loved me,
But each day you rejected my salvation.

With that in an instant,
Day turned into night.
I never knew such torture could be.
Now too late, I know the Bible is right.

If I can tell you anything,
Hell has no age.
It is a place of torture,
Separated from God and full of rage.

You know I thought it was funny — a joke,
But this one thing is true.
If you never accept Jesus Christ
Hell is waiting for you.

A Friend of mine, Markson, sent this poem to me and it is best you accept Jesus. Don’t be discouraged by the ungodly behaviour of the acclaimed saved.

Obey his Words and you don’t need to worry about hell.

Keep Trying

In the journey of life there is no waiting, no parking and no loitering. You just keep moving on. Are you tired of making further attempts because of your past attempts have ended in failure? Don’t give up yet because the next attempt could give you the miracle. Thomas Edison, the inventor of the electric bulb succeeded after 999 failed attempts. He saw his failures as a journey and not a destination.

Keep Trying

Don’t Give Up!!

Friend, you don’t quit business or academics or politics or ministry or marriage etc. because of the failures you are experiencing now. Keep trying other methods until you succeed. Abraham Lincoln, one of the best Presidents America ever had, became president after several failed attempts in his political carrier.

Jesus Christ in trying to counsel people never to give up on any issue until they succeed, gave the testimony of a certain widow in a town who wouldn’t take no for an answer from the judge who was in charge of her case in the law court.

Even though the judge neither feared God nor man, her persistence to get justice from him gave her victory. I like to announce to you that you are closer to your miracles today than yesterday. Don’t give up. Keep Trying. You will succeed.

He Will Sit as a Refiner and a Purifier of Silver

Refining Silver

Refining Silver

Malachi 3:3 says: ‘He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.’

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That  week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn’t mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the  fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot;

Then she thought again about the verse that says: ‘He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.’ She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the  entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment  too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, ‘How do you know when the silver is fully refined?‘ He smiled at her and  answered, ‘Oh, that’s easy — when I see my image in it.’

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Pass this on. This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them. And, whatever they’re  going through, they’ll be a better person in the end.

Random Thoughts: Mind The Way You Respond

Sitting on the top a batch mixer, blending a fluid loss additive, my mind drifted over the event that had happen some hours ago:

I had met a colleague reminding her of an assignment that we were to carry out together. Her response to my reminder was alarmingly annoying, demeaning me to being lesser and making me look like I am disturbing her. We had failed in recent weeks to achieve this task and I wasn’t interested in failing this week.

It had bothered me all through the week prior to meeting her and I just wanted a scenario for us to reason together. Her response dampened my morale and urged me to be the lone ranger in accompanying the task.

I had recalled that most of my colleagues, though of lower positions in the office, had complained about her attitude towards them. I had notice such but had swept it under the carpet seeing it as nothing. They had complained of being looked down on and her bluffs are annoyingly skyrocketing.

What is wrong with this babe? Am I blocking her progress? Why is she thus? Is she earning more than me? Does she have 3 heads? Or what…? i havent donr specific thing to her that could be classified as wrong.

“Hey!! Turnoff the pump” I woke up from my thoughts-land and resumed reality.

Well, in order not to be on the losing side this week, I carried out the assignment later that week. I requested an apology from the babe, which I got and life continued.

Friends, be careful how you talk to people and how you respond to their talks. You never can tell who you are talking to. You can be as mild as Jesus Christ and speak to people friendly. You would achieve greater results if your approach is superb.

You can’t always be the boss. Every Boss has a Boss. Your Boss might even be your servant.

Be A Child, Bless A Child

Today is the 27th day of May. It is not a public holiday but virtually all kids aren’t at school today. School activities are only suspended for the kids for them to relax, play and get ready for normal activity tomorrow.

While the adults are at their workplace, claiming to be responsible and no more kids, they forget that they would always be someone’s child. Did you just fall from the sky like a UFO or did you metarmorphise from a chemistry or biology laboratory?

Jesus in Matthew 19:14 told his disciples that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to Children. Earlier on He had told them that “… I assure you that unless you change and become like Children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 18:3 GNB). We must humble ourselves and see things like little children so as to enter Heaven.

Is it difficult to be a child? A child forgives easily, praises heartily, depends wholly on The Father, seeks to know more, can be patient, learns quickly, isn’t bothered of earthly possesion, never hates and loves easily. A child would talk about his friends to his friends; have you talked about Jesus in recent time? Is He even your friend?

Even as Adult, lets handle children with love. Let us not provoke them to wrath as is said in Epheisans 6:4. Receive them like Jesus, bless them, get something for them that would have a positive impact on them; a gadget wouldn’t be bad as pointed out by KC Emenike on Echo Blog (http://echo.com.ng/2013/its-childrens-day-my-thoughts/).

For the kids, Ephesians 6:1-3 is for you. Obey in the Lord. Love God too.

Read these scriptures today: Ephesians 6:1-4; Matthew 18:1-6; Matthew 19:13-15.

Be a child, bless a child. Everyday is Children’s day. Show Love.

Positive Attitude for Life: Pharisaism

Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven – Mt 5:20.

Pharisaism is the attitude of self-righteousness. It is a projection of self as better than others. It is an attitude which says, “I am always right and others are wrong”; “I am good and others are not as good as I am”.

Pharisaism displays a questioning attitude. The attitude of questioning is good provided it is meant to clarify doubts and to grow in knowledge and wisdom. The pharisaic questions aim at finding fault with others or to expose ignorance and littleness. But they fail to realize that people tend to find fault with others mainly due to their own insecurity, low self-image, prejudice and jealousy.

The pharisees speaks of love, but will not be charitable; they stress the means rather than the end. They speak of faith but demonstrates lack of faith. They project doctrines but are yet unconvinced.

Jesus often opposed and rebuked the pharisees. They observed the rules and regulations to the minutest details. They found faults and multiply laws. In observing the externals, they forgot the most important commandment – love of God and neighbour.

Jesus teaches that we are created in love and to love. Fulness of life can be achieved only through a life of love. The pharisees failedthe ultimat test of love – love of God and neighbour. They served God only with their lips while their hearts were far from Him. They thought that they would be saved by merely observing the law. Hence, law became a substitute for God in their lives.

The pharisees made the life of others miserable and difficult. They critized others, but failed to realise that critical judgement should start with oneself, and it should be guided by love, forgiveness and understanding.
